Marta Climent is the second bassoon and contrabassoon at the Staatstheater Cottbus since 2020. She plays as well as a guest at the Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie since 2018.

Born in Spain and after finishing her Bachelor degree she moved to Basel at the age of 23 to Study with Sergio Azzolini at the Basel Akademie. After having completed the studies with him, continued a Master in Germany at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts and at the University of Stavanger in Norway with Ole Kristian Dahl. Both had the most influence in her playing having known more teachers during her career such as Gustavo Nuñez, Carlo Colombo, Fredrik Ekdahl, Georg klütsch, Lyndon Watts, Stephan Krings, Till Heine and many more.

She has been a guest at Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester, Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester, Göteborgsoperan, Ulter Orchestra, Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Basel sinfonietta and the Neues Orchester Basel.

In the last two years she has been very curious on the teaching side of the bassoon life, that’s why she considers the online format to develop her communication skills and getting to know the bassoon community. She has an online reed making course and planning for more to come.
